Are you ready for a bigger challenge? We are now looking for case officers within registry administration for the Service Department, based in Kiruna. Here, you will develop alongside dedicated and friendly colleagues, gaining lifelong experiences while your work contributes to increasing safety and reducing crime in Sweden.

The Service Department

The Service Department (SE) was formally established on January 27, 2025, with the mandate to strengthen the police's interaction with citizens by consolidating operations and national responsibilities under one department. The department will consist of approximately 720 employees nationwide, led by a department head, and is organizationally structured into three units and a department office.

The department is responsible for strengthening the police's interaction with citizens and meeting their service needs. We work with citizen-facing cases and external channels, while driving digital development forward. The Service Department is also responsible for the authority's information management and is part of the crime-fighting mandate. The department holds both operational responsibility and national responsibility (process responsibility) in various areas, as well as responsibility for developing and monitoring these.

Firearms Cases and Other Services

The unit is responsible for steering, support, and follow-up within parts of the administrative law area. Cases are processed under the Weapons Act, including permits to possess firearms (firearm licenses, firearm permits), firearm trade, estate matters, firearm passports, import and export of firearms, seizure, and revocation of firearms. The unit also handles disputes regarding parking citations and the police's revenue collection, and holds national responsibility for lost and found items, search for traffic-damaged wildlife, service of process, animal protection, and sealing of mine shafts.

Revenue Collection

The Revenue Collection Group is responsible, among other things, for receiving and processing payments of fines issued by the Swedish Police Authority, the Public Prosecution Service, the Swedish Customs Service, and the Coast Guard, or decided by the courts.

Furthermore, the group works to investigate and pay out damages to victims in cases where the court has decided that money confiscated from the perpetrator should be used for this purpose.

The position is located in Kiruna.

Job Responsibilities

As a case officer in revenue collection, you handle cases within the operational areas of responsibility. The role includes both routine administrative tasks and more complex issues requiring investigation, analysis, and documentation.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Processing fine payments
  • Investigating and paying out damages to victims of crime
  • Maintaining accurate data in IT systems
  • Communicating with citizens and other authorities via email and phone
  • Participating in improvement and development work related to the operation, in collaboration with other departments within the authority

The responsibilities may develop and expand based on operational needs as well as your experience, competence, and potential for development. We are therefore looking for someone who is flexible and wants to contribute to improving and developing the operation.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • A completed upper secondary education, or alternatively other education or acquired experience that the employer considers equivalent
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Good computer skills

It is an advantage if you also have:

  • Current work experience in case processing and/or administration that the employer considers relevant for the position
  • University education or post-secondary education with a focus on a relevant area, such as law or economics, or other areas the employer deems relevant
  • Current legal knowledge and experience within relevant legislation, such as administrative law, public access, and confidentiality
  • Current work experience working in different case management systems simultaneously

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with a genuine sense of service who thrives in a role with many different contact surfaces. You have a good ability to plan and organize your work in a structured manner. As a person, you are independent, take initiative to solve emerging problems, and work proactively to streamline operations. Furthermore, you are flexible and have a good understanding of how tasks need to be prioritized. The role requires a good ability to see the big picture and an understanding of how different parts of the operation are integrated. Since the position involves collaboration both internally and externally, you must have good teamwork skills.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and your personal qualities.
