Are you an expert in collective bargaining, wage formation, and labor law issues? Then you might be the person we are looking for!

Your role with us

As the Chief Negotiator, you are the functional manager responsible for the municipality's collective bargaining, wage formation, and labor law issues. You lead, develop, and follow up on the municipality-wide work to ensure a legally secure and unified approach regarding the interpretation and application of laws, agreements, and regulations within the field of labor law. You create sustainable structures, processes, and policy documents within your area of responsibility. Additionally, you manage an HR Strategist working within this area.

The role is both strategic and operational. You provide clear, qualified employer support to managers and HR staff in the organization and collaborate with trade union organizations. You represent the municipality as the employer in disputes and collective bargaining negotiations, and you are responsible for the municipality's wage formation process. Monitoring and communicating news within the labor law area, as well as planning and conducting internal training initiatives within the organization, are also part of the role. You are the contact person for SKR (Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions) on matters concerning laws, agreements, and employer issues.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have an academic education of at least 120 credits/180 ECTS from a university or college, specifically in Human Resources and Work Life programs, or another higher education degree that the employer deems equivalent. We require you to have current specialist knowledge in the field of labor law, as well as practical experience and knowledge regarding the application and drafting of collective agreements. Experience in successfully handling complex personnel cases is required for the role, as is experience in working with and structuring processes that span broad areas of collaboration.

We would appreciate it if you have several years of experience in responsibility for collective bargaining, wage formation, and labor law issues within the public sector. Experience in leading through others is meritorious, as is experience in conducting training initiatives. You handle IT tools as a natural part of your work and have a good ability to adopt new system support. The role requires that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

As a person, you are sensitive and clear, with a strategic approach and a holistic perspective. We want you to be result-oriented, proactive, and capable of making rational assessments in complex contexts, which means you are also meticulous, analytical, structured, and responsible. The ability to build good relationships and contribute to creating a trusting and positive collaboration climate in the organization is a given for you. You are communicative and pedagogical, with the ability to explain, clarify, and anchor complex rules and processes. You demonstrate integrity and good judgment in actions and communication.
