Job Description

We are looking for an SFI Teacher (Swedish for Immigrants) to join the adult education program at Säffle Learning Center. Here, you will become part of a creative workplace with 23 employees and approximately 400 students each year. Your work will have a significant impact – both on individuals' futures and on societal development.

At Säffle Learning Center, we have approximately 70 SFI students divided into different groups: Practical SFI, Vocational SFI, and Study-Preparatory SFI. We base our teaching on the students' prior literacy experiences and strive to promote social integration, further studies, and establishment in the labor market. In our operations, we have largely moved from a textbook-based approach to a more experience-based learning model.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include teaching adult students with diverse backgrounds and educational levels from various countries, which requires high flexibility and pedagogical skill. You must have strong digital skills and experience working with learning platforms – we use the Google environment in our teaching.

As an SFI teacher, you are also expected to actively plan and conduct study visits, and provide support to students participating in language training internships when needed.

We are looking for someone who, with enthusiasm and curiosity, wants to contribute to development and sees change work as both stimulating and meaningful. You have a good attitude towards others, promote a positive work environment, and collaborate well with colleagues.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability and teamwork skills to ensure you fit well into the team and our way of working.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach SFI. Experience of teaching in adult education is an advantage.

Our operations are dynamic and changes happen quickly, so you need to thrive in a flexible environment. If you also have experience teaching Swedish as a second language at the basic level, we consider this a great advantage.

Conditions

All positions within adult education are holiday positions (seasonal/temporary contracts).
