About the Role

If you are hired and are not already trained as a security guard (skyddsvakt), Securitas will cover the cost of your training.

As a security guard (skyddsvakt), your primary task is to deliver safety to our customers. You do this, for example, in a monitoring center or at an access control point. As a security guard, you have greater authority than a standard guard and often work in close cooperation with our customers' staff at sites of crucial importance to Sweden's security. As an on-duty security guard at a client site in Västerås, you will be armed, which places higher demands on you as an applicant. After potential security guard training, you will also be trained in the use of handguns, where a passing score in shooting is a requirement.

The work is independent and often feels free, but comes with significant responsibility.

The tasks are highly varied. As a security guard, you can work both indoors and outdoors, night or day. Shift lengths vary, but are often 12-hour shifts. Since we operate year-round, working every other weekend is common.

For example, you will:

• Handle cases within your area of assignment
• Ensure that no unauthorized persons gain access to the sites
• Staff static sites as needed

Requirements

• Passing grades in Swedish and English from the first year of high school
• Category B driver's license
• Swedish citizenship
• Passed security clearance

• have worked with similar tasks previously
• have civilian or military security guard training
• have guard training

For employment within Securitas Sverige AB, you are required to have passing grades from high school in Swedish and English and be approved by the County Administrative Board for employment in an authorized security company according to the Act (1974:191) on Security Companies (the application is made by Securitas). Depending on the position, security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may also become relevant. To investigate and assess whether you meet the requirements for approval under the respective legislation, a background check is conducted. The assessment concerns lawfulness, suitability, reliability, loyalty, and potential vulnerabilities. Information collected may come from yourself, open sources, or authorities. We apply a holistic assessment when evaluating suitability for each position.
