About the Department

The Neuropsychiatry Department is one of five adult psychiatric departments at Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU), responsible for patients with neuropsychiatric disabilities, intellectual disabilities, eating disorders, deaf psychiatry, memory disorders, Huntington's disease, and inpatient geriatric psychiatry. The department is currently research-intensive, focusing on cognitive disorders in adults, population studies on the health of the elderly, suicide research, as well as research within neuropsychiatry and eating disorders.

The Psychiatric Clinic for Autism is an outpatient clinic serving individuals with autism and psychiatric comorbidity. This covers a broad spectrum such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, and more. Most patients referred to us come from various psychiatric clinics within SU.

Work is based on team collaboration, currently including doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and administrators.

What We Offer

Your main placement will be at the Psychiatric Clinic for Autism located at Första Långgatan in central Gothenburg, but depending on the department's needs and your interest, it may be relevant to work in both outpatient and inpatient care. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the department's on-call line, which is seen as merit-worthy, educational, and not least fun!

We offer you the opportunity to work as a resident physician (underläkare) in a learning and developing environment in Gothenburg with good access to supervision.

The departments work in a team-focused, evidence-based manner and are in constant development. Opportunities exist to participate in development work and/or research.

Good work as a resident physician with us is a merit for internship (AT), basic training (BT), and specialist training (ST) in psychiatry.

The position is a fixed-term employment for six months with the possibility of extension.

About You

We are looking for you who have a medical degree. If you hold a license to practice, it is seen as a merit. Experience in healthcare, especially in psychiatry, is also a merit.

You have an interest in psychiatry. You have a good ability to work independently when required but can also collaborate in teams when needed. You are efficient and results-oriented, yet careful, and interested in learning more.
