The Marine Management Division is responsible for coordinating and developing Sweden's work with the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive, as well as marine planning and other maritime issues. The division is also responsible for fisheries issues, both national management and implementing the EU's Common Fisheries Policy in Sweden. We collaborate closely with other divisions within the agency and with external actors, working with ecosystem-based management from source to sea.
At the Marine Environment Unit, 17 people work with, among other things, Sweden's implementation of the Marine Environment Ordinance and the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive, including action programmes, initial assessments, regulations, guidelines, and EU reporting. The mandate also includes supporting the government in the EU's joint implementation strategy for marine environmental management. Read more at Havochvatten.se/organisation
