Description

We are looking for a temporary school nurse for Fryxellska School, grades 7-9. The position is a temporary assignment during the period from 2026-10-01 to 2027-09-30.

The student health services work to promote health and prevent illness to support students' development towards educational goals. As a school nurse, you play a central role in this work and are given good opportunities to influence and develop the content of student health services at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The medical work of the school nurses is led by a medically responsible school nurse (MLA) who acts as a support in the medical mission. The school nurse group has regular professional meetings.

Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you are part of the school's student health team and work evidence-based with health-promoting and preventive student health work. The goal is to contribute to accessible learning environments and remove obstacles for students' learning and development.

The work takes place in close collaboration with other professions within student health services, as well as in cooperation with school management, teachers, students, and guardians. The work as a school nurse is varied and stimulating. The health-promoting and preventive mission for students includes health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, values-based work, lifestyle issues, drug and alcohol-related issues (ANDT), simpler healthcare interventions, and reception together with the school doctor. You collaborate with external authorities, actors, and healthcare institutions, and write referrals as needed.

You support the schools' pedagogical work and participate regularly in local student health teams, and follow the business plan and the annual calendar established for the medical component of student health services.

Qualifications

You who apply are a registered nurse with specialist education in health and medical care for children and adolescents, district nurse, or school nurse.

We want you to be a strong driving force in the health-promoting work and have experience working in teams. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and adolescents. Good knowledge of the Swedish school system is also meritorious. You have good ability to use digital technology as a tool in your daily work, and it is meritorious if you have experience with the medical record system Prorenata. To succeed in the role, you have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Furthermore, you are a person with good cooperation skills and a sense of responsibility. Being careful and structured are also qualities we seek. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. The person offered the position must provide an extract from the police's criminal record register. A driver's license is required as there are travel requirements in the position.
