The Municipal Management Administration supports three committees: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environment Committee, and the Community Planning Committee. The administration employs approximately 135 people and is divided into a central office area, a building and environment area, and a community planning and growth area, where the Water and Wastewater Department is included.

A day as a pipefitter in the water department

In your role as a pipefitter, you primarily work with service connections for customer connections, repairing pipes in connection with acute water leaks, investigating and addressing leaks in the wastewater network, and laying shorter pipe sections. The work also includes water sampling to monitor water quality in connection with repair measures, recurring maintenance work such as night flushing of the pipe network, and more.

The pipe network group also supports the operations technicians with measures at waterworks and wastewater treatment plants, if needed. We are a small organization where everyone needs to help each other and step up for one another.

You work with pipe installation according to AMA standards and establish and handle shutdowns according to the TA plan. You are responsible for ensuring safety, order, and clarity throughout the entire work process, including planning, execution, and post-work restoration.

You meet our customers, the citizens of the municipality, daily with a good attitude.

Safety and working environment are important, and you contribute by carefully following occupational health and safety regulations, using protective equipment, and reporting and eliminating risks in the operations. As a pipefitter, you work in close collaboration with colleagues and are responsible for contributing to a good atmosphere and an environment where everyone feels well.

Through participation and responsibility, you contribute to the development of the operations. You actively participate in training, seminars, and other activities that can develop both you, our department, and our facilities. Your qualifications

We are looking for you with a high school diploma and experience as a construction worker/VA pipefitter and/or other relevant experience from the construction and infrastructure industry.

The position requires a Category C driver's license, and if you do not have it, you should be prepared to obtain this qualification.

You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

Meritorious qualifications include: Road work level 1, 2, and 3A, Dig Safely, Pipefitter diploma course, Water hygiene course, Welding training for welding PE pipes.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities, where we particularly value teamwork skills and that you are a service-oriented problem solver. Being able to function in a group as well as working independently is important.

Since we work with food, i.e., drinking water, high demands are placed on hygiene routines in connection with leak repair, connections, and similar tasks. This requires you to be a person with a high sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

You find it easy to follow instructions but also have the ability to see solutions to problems that arise. Doing a good job in an efficient way is important to you.

Other information

The position is permanent, 100%, with start date according to agreement.
