Your Responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a music teacher at Ekkälleskolan, we want you to awaken the students' joy of creation and creativity. You will teach music (approx. 60%) and alternatively art or another teaching or resource assignment based on the organization's needs and your competence (approx. 40%).

Your daily routine includes, among other things:

• Planning, implementing, and developing music education for students in grades Pre-K to 6 based on the curriculum.
• Using digital tools as a natural part of teaching.
• Participating in a two-teacher model within practical-esthetic subjects, where you plan the teaching and are supported by a co-teacher in the classroom.
• Taking artistic and pedagogical main responsibility for the school's common traditions, such as Lucia celebrations, Christmas closing, and summer closing.
• Participating in and driving forward collegial learning, both in the school's engaged work team and in networks for practical-esthetic subjects together with colleagues at other schools.
• Collaborating closely with colleagues at the school and the after-school center, as well as guardians, regarding the students' entire school day.

Your Workplace

At Ekkälleskolan, we actively work to create job satisfaction, and there is good cooperation among all staff. The school and the after-school center have close cooperation to help and support students in reaching their goals as far as possible, both academically and socially, and to create curiosity for lifelong learning. We are approximately 55 employees, and there is a good "we-feeling" at the school where we work with clear goals and collegial learning. We also have close cooperation between school and home, and we end the school year by inviting everyone to our annual Cultural Festival.

Ekkälleskolan is located in Södra Ekkällan and is a school with approximately 340 students in grades Pre-K to 6. We are a two-parallel school with a total of 14 classes. The school has five after-school departments with a total of approximately 200 registered students. The after-school center has a well-developed quality work with clear routines for planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching. Ekkälleskolan is located between the green nature reserve Tinnerö and the Botanical Garden. The proximity to the city offers good commuting opportunities.

You who apply

In the first instance, we are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach in grades Pre-K to 6 in the subject of music. In the second instance, we are looking for you who have completed teacher education and have applied for a license with eligibility in grades Pre-K to 6 in music. Alternatively, you are at the end of your teacher education in grades Pre-K to 6 in the subject of music. It is meritorious to have a teaching license and eligibility to teach art in grades Pre-K to 6. It is also meritorious to have a teaching license and eligibility to teach mathematics, Swedish, or Swedish as a second language (SVA) in grades Pre-K to 6.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades Pre-K to 6 for at least one school year. It is also meritorious if you have experience of grading or alternatively documenting students' learning during the school year.

In your role as a teacher in grades Pre-K to 6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in grades Pre-K to 6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.

You see every student's unique potential and take clear responsibility for creating a learning environment where the focus is on development and where you actively contribute to every student reaching as far as possible.
