Our client is in a phase where a new cloud and development platform is being built from scratch. As a Platform Engineer, you will become part of the team developing a modern platform based on both private and public cloud services, with a focus on automation, scalability, and developer experience.

About the role

As a Platform Engineer, you will become part of our client's initiative to develop next-generation platforms and development environments. The team you will join is responsible for building a modern platform that combines private and public cloud services to support the company's software development. The work involves both developing the underlying infrastructure and creating platform services that enable a more efficient development environment.

In this role, you will work with both the development and management of the platform's infrastructure and services. A central part of the work is to build and further develop an OpenStack-based infrastructure platform, as well as to automate infrastructure and platform services using tools like Terraform and Ansible. You will also work with container-based environments in Kubernetes and Docker, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to the platform's observability, security, and compliance capabilities.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Linux infrastructure, or related fields. You have a good understanding of Linux-based environments and experience with automation through tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, or Bash. Furthermore, you have worked with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, and have experience with Git and modern development and delivery processes.

To thrive in this role, we see that you have an interest in automation, platform development, and modern infrastructure solutions. You are accustomed to collaborating with others and have the ability to work closely with users and development teams to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions. Experience with OpenStack, Ceph, or other private cloud platforms is advantageous, as is knowledge of public cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Must-have requirements for the position:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Good knowledge of Linux, automation, Docker, and Kubernetes
• For this position, you must undergo and pass security clearance according to current regulations, which may require specific citizenship

Advantageous qualifications for the position:

• Experience with OpenStack and/or Ceph
• Knowledge of networking
