About the Employer

Mariaskolan is a primary school (grades F–6) with approximately 130 students and an after-school center, located in a residential area near the city center. Mariaskolan is currently implementing the "Gällivare Model," a project where each class is supported by a lead teacher and a class mentor.

Job Responsibilities

You will assist one student or a group of students who may have various physical or social needs. Working together with the teacher in the classroom, you will help ensure that all students reach their learning goals. You will also work at the after-school center, during opening hours and after school hours.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a secondary education or other education that the employer deems equivalent. As a person, you should have a present and attentive approach to students' different needs, be a clear leader, and have good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible, and quick to take initiative. We develop our work through pedagogical dialogues and collegial learning, and we see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required prior to employment.

Working Hours and Duration

Full-time, permanent position. Probationary period may apply.
