Operations Technician for the Water and Wastewater Unit in Gnesta Municipality

The position is located within the Community Development Administration, which handles municipality-wide issues such as strategic and physical planning, regulatory enforcement regarding environmental and building matters, and regional development. This administration also holds the consolidated responsibility for the municipality's technical supply services, including waste and sanitation, water and sewage, streets, roads, and parks. The administration works on behalf of the Municipal Executive Board and the Community Development Committee.

We offer an exciting and stimulating job alongside competent and dedicated colleagues. The unit, consisting of 12 employees, is tasked with delivering drinking water, managing wastewater, and directing stormwater within the urban areas of the municipality. The water and wastewater facility includes 4 waterworks, 3 treatment plants, stormwater facilities, pumping stations, and pipe networks. Water and wastewater supply is a high-priority issue for the municipality, which is currently in a major development phase. The water and wastewater unit is expected to build both a new waterworks and a new treatment plant solution. In addition, significant renewal work will take place on both the facilities and the pipe networks. The position is located within the Water and Wastewater Unit, which is part of the Community Development Administration.

Job Responsibilities

As an Operations Technician in Gnesta Municipality, you will have an stimulating and varied role where you work with significant personal responsibility and the opportunity to influence. You will become part of a dedicated team that together ensures our residents receive safe and sustainable water every day.

In this role, you will work with water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities, with a primary focus on the operation of our waterworks.

The tasks are varied and include operation and supervision, preventive maintenance, and sampling. Our modern and well-developed monitoring system gives you good conditions to follow processes and make the right decisions in daily work. You will also be involved in development work and various projects that drive the business forward. On-call duty is included in the role.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working as an operations technician in water and wastewater operations
  • Or other competence that the employer deems equivalent
  • Technical competence
  • Computer skills
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Education as an operations technician or process technician
  • Education in control and regulation technology
  • Experience and knowledge of water and treatment plant processes, process technology
  • Category BE driver's license

Employment Terms

Type of employment: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-07-15 or as agreed.
