Your Role

Are you drawn to leading and developing the planning of national and international projects within the defense industry? As Section Manager for the PMO, you will have the opportunity to lead the work for this function across all our projects.

In the role of Head of Project Planning, you will have significant opportunities to influence how we plan and execute our projects, as well as to develop your own skills and career. You will work closely with the Project Management section, and together we will further develop and streamline working methods within project management and planning.

Project planning is a prerequisite for us as a company to be able to handle and deliver complex projects. The planning should lead to a unified view of what is required to reach the goal at all levels of a project.

Your section works with milestones and schedules, but also with the creation and analysis of project structures, follow-up, requirement setting, risk management, and project reporting in close collaboration with project management.

Main responsibilities and areas of responsibility:

• Act as line manager for employees within project planning in the Surface Ship business area
• Support planners in their work to plan projects efficiently
• Further develop and streamline workflows and planning methods
• Work as a change leader to improve planning processes and methodologies
• Responsible for competence development and appropriate staffing of employees
• Support project planners to ensure deliveries on time, with the right quality and within budget
• Communicate with decision-makers, other leaders, and stakeholders
• Perform administrative managerial tasks

Possible additional tasks:

• Work as project and contract owner for certain PMO projects
• Contribute to further developing our processes regarding planning, sales, project management, and contract execution
• Contribute to work towards future contracts and projects
• Support the Head of Project Management Office (PMO)

This role reports to the Head of Project Management Office for the Surface Ship business area, who reports directly to the Head of Business Unit Surface Ship.

Your Profile

You have experience in project management and planning and are a natural leader with drive and engagement who has the ability to drive change and improvement. You are challenged by working with complex projects and advanced products from contract to delivery. There is an interest in technology and curiosity about how new technology can improve processes and create efficiency, and you feel comfortable in a changing environment where development is a natural part of everyday life. At the same time, it is important to us that you have a genuine interest in people.

You can contribute to the development of your colleagues, identify areas for improvement, and bring a team together around common tasks. You communicate effectively and clearly and create a positive and inclusive work environment. You are responsible and unpretentious, with innovative thinking and creativity to solve problems innovatively.

Background and experience requirements:

• University or college degree in e.g., engineering, economics, or business administration, or other relevant education
• Experience of project management and project planning in a technically complex environment, understanding the whole picture from design, to production, to final delivery
• Good communication skills
• Experience of leadership and team building
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and Swedish, both orally and in writing

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
