Senior Project Manager for the Construction of a New Prison in Kalmar

About the Role

We are seeking someone who wants to lead parts of our large construction project in Kalmar, where we are building a completely new correctional facility with a construction area of approximately 80,000 square meters over a production period of about 4 years. The work is led by a Project Director and takes place in collaboration within a project team consisting of both internal and external resources, such as project managers, consultants, and contractors.

We are looking for you who have extensive experience with large projects and who are motivated by contributing to a socially important, exciting, and challenging collaborative project. As a Project Manager, you are responsible for independently driving and executing the project in accordance with our goals and guidelines. The assignment involves close collaboration with our tenant, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården), and our property management organization. We believe you are driven by collaborating with others and taking responsibility for various parts of an important and exciting project with significant societal benefit.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Steer the project towards set goals through proactive work in close collaboration with other project members and the contractor.
• Be responsible for delivery, follow-up, and reporting for parts of the project.
• Coordinate different parts of the project with each other.

About You

To be successful in this role, you have:

• A degree as a Civil Engineer or Construction Engineer, or equivalent competence acquired in another way.
• Extensive experience in project management of large and complex construction projects with multiple stages and main components, either as a client, consultant, or contractor.
• Extensive experience working in different contract forms with various types of contractors, both in groundworks, technical installations, and building construction.
• An understanding of sustainable construction and how it can be achieved while maintaining quality and good operational conditions.

As a Project Manager at Specialfastigheter, you will work on exciting new construction and renovation projects with a strong focus on safety and sustainability. You will become part of the Project Development department, which currently consists of approximately 90 own and hired project managers located throughout the country, and you will belong to the "Large Projects" project area, with the Project Area Manager serving as your direct manager.

Location

The position is located in Kalmar. Since the company's property portfolio is nationwide, the role involves travel, primarily within the geography where you are employed. A driver's license for a passenger car is required.

The Recruitment Process
