Parachute Technician Wanted at the Swedish Armed Forces Parachute School (FMFS)
About the Unit
The Swedish Armed Forces Parachute School, FMFS, is part of the Life Regiment Hussars (K 3) located in Karlsborg. The school's primary task is parachuting service and it is responsible for all parachuting operations within the Swedish Armed Forces. FMFS is a relatively small unit filled with specialist competence in all aspects of parachuting service. FMFS trains, develops, and maintains the parachuting capability and airdrop logistics capability of all jumping units, both nationally and internationally.
Main Responsibilities
The main duty of a Parachute Technician is to maintain airdrop equipment available at the unit. You will work in a team whose primary task is to pack parachute systems and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all airdrop systems present at FMFS.
You may be required to be on high readiness, and business travel both domestically and internationally occurs frequently. Working hours outside of standard office hours are also part of the role.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission)
- Good skills in expressing yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Upper secondary education (high school diploma)
- Current experience from practical/manual work

The Life Regiment Hussars, K 3, has fast and striking units and extensive experience in the intelligence field. K 3 trains a Jäger Battalion and an Intelligence Battalion. The Jäger Battalion is a highly mobile unit capable of being first on the scene during an operation. The Intelligence Battalion delivers intelligence by using advanced technology, ground personnel, and unmanned aerial vehicles (RPAS).
At K 3, you will also find the Swedish Armed Forces Survival School and the Flight Unit, which are responsible for remotely piloted aircraft systems and military parachuting service. Support functions such as the Garrison Unit and the Logistics Unit are also located here.
