The Waste and Water & Sanitation (VA) sector is a pleasant workplace with dedicated employees looking forward to an exciting future.

The sector works with both waste management and water & sanitation, and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, waste facilities, recycling centers, and more.

We are now expanding our team and are looking for a Water & Sanitation Technician for the Pipe Network unit.

Your new job

As a Water & Sanitation Technician, you play a vital role in the operation and maintenance of the water and sanitation network. The tasks include new construction/renovation of the water and sanitation network, as well as operation and investigation work on the pipe network. On-call duty is included in the position.

Common tasks

• New construction/renovation of the water and sanitation pipe network.
• Operation of the pipe network.
• Investigation work on the pipe network.
• On-call duty.
• Repairing water leaks.
• Leak detection.

Your qualifications

Requirements:

• Education in water & sanitation or civil/infrastructure construction, or equivalent competence.
• Team player and proactive.
• Experience reading plans and drawings.
• Experience with underground piping installation.
• Positive attitude and practical approach.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good computer skills.
• Category B driver's license.

The position is classified under a security clearance level. This means that before you are employed by Östersund Municipality, a security check and register control will be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

Meritorious qualifications:

• YKB certification (Swedish certification for underground construction).
• Driver's license higher than Category B.
• Excavator operator training.
• Safe excavation certification.
• Diploma course in pipe technology.

As a person, you are expected to be initiative-taking, willing to take significant responsibility, and demonstrate good ability to work in a group as well as being self-reliant, while remaining loyal to decisions made. You see the big picture and are quality-conscious.

Extensive experience in the installation and/or operation of water and sanitation pipelines is considered an advantage.

In the selection process, great importance is placed on both experience in the area of operations and your personal qualities, such as attitude, proactiveness, and other personal traits.

Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis.
