Description
The Public Outdoor Environment Department is responsible for the public spaces you experience in Karlstad Municipality. We work with streets, parks, and public land to create a safe and attractive public environment where people have good conditions for a high quality of life.
The position is located at the Street/Park Operations Unit, which manages the municipality's streets and roads, parks and green areas, as well as bathing areas and small boat harbors through operation, maintenance, and development. The work is carried out both in-house and in collaboration with other actors.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a construction worker who wants to work with the operation and maintenance of streets and roads, such as stone and paving work. Common tasks include jointing, manual and mechanical weed control, and minor stone maintenance. Other tasks that may occur include, for example, winter road maintenance as well as clearing and cutting of utility streets.
The position also includes on-call duty.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have relevant education deemed suitable by the employer, at least upper secondary education, and documented experience in construction work. You should have experience from stone and paving work.
You need to have a chainsaw license, minimum grade AB. Chainsaw license C and brush cutter licenses RA+RT are meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience with winter maintenance of streets and roads.
The position requires a B driver's license. A C driver's license is meritorious.
To thrive in the position, you need to be responsible, proactive, and have the ability to see solutions. You have good physical fitness and a good attitude towards colleagues, contractors, and our citizens.
