About the RoleYou will become a key person in a major railway initiative where new rail vehicles are to be procured and specifications are set for future traffic. The role has a clear technical focus, and you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and ensuring the quality of the work within the sub-project for the specification of requirements.
Here, you work closely with several specialist functions within technology, ILS (Integrated Logistics Support), quality, and design, while simultaneously managing important interfaces towards maintenance planning, vehicle management, spare parts handling, obsolescence, and depot issues. You also play a central role in the dialogue with stakeholders and suppliers, where clarity, structure, and technical depth are crucial. This is a role for you who wants to influence future vehicle solutions in a complex environment with significant societal benefit.
Responsibilities- You lead and coordinate the work on the functional requirements specification for planned vehicles.
- You plan, prioritize, and follow up on activities within the sub-project, ensuring quality in deliverables.
- You drive technical issues related to, among other things, technology, ILS, quality, design, maintenance, and vehicle management.
- You coordinate interfaces towards spare parts handling, obsolescence, depot issues, and other related areas.
- You collaborate continuously with adjacent sub-projects and report status, risks, and design choices to project management.
- You produce and ensure the quality of technical documentation, meeting minutes, and decision support materials.
- You contribute to the dialogue with suppliers to create a good understanding of needs, target vision, and preliminary requirements.
- You coordinate communication with owners and other stakeholders through check-ins, dialogue meetings, and information materials.
Requirements- At least eight (8) years of documented experience working with railway vehicles, where the experience covers technical issues relevant to the main parts of the role.
- Relevant academic education in railways, railway vehicles, or a corresponding area, or alternatively, documented professional experience assessed as equivalent.
- Documented experience in leading technical work in railway vehicle projects or having held a vehicle responsible role with responsibility for technical direction, coordination, and follow-up.
- Experience working as a technical expert in railway vehicle projects or railway vehicle management, including analysis, requirement interpretation, technical follow-up, and creation of decision support materials.
- Documented knowledge of technical systems on railway vehicles, such as propulsion systems, braking systems, door systems, control and monitoring systems, electrical systems, and climate systems.
- Experience working in or towards a client organization for rail vehicles, including coordination with suppliers, operators, maintenance providers, vehicle owners, or other interested parties.
- Knowledge and experience in the operation, maintenance, and management of railway vehicles, including maintenance planning, monitoring of vehicle status, spare parts handling, and obsolescence management.
- You express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and can produce clear technical documentation and decision support materials.
- You express yourself well in English, both orally and in writing, and can understand and review technical documentation, contract texts, and supplier materials in English.
Merits- Experience in planning, conducting, or supporting procurement of railway vehicles, technical support services, maintenance services, or vehicle-related deliveries.
- Knowledge of the railway traffic system and understanding of the connection between vehicles, infrastructure, traffic scheduling, maintenance, operators, and vehicle owners.
- Experience with procurement according to LUF or corresponding regulations within the supply sectors.
- Knowledge of approval processes for railway vehicles, such as vehicle approval, change management, safety assessment, and interfaces with authorities or notified bodies.
- Experience leading and coordinating work in a complex contractual and stakeholder structure.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance planning, vehicle management, spare parts handling, and obsolescence issues.
