Svenska Kyrkan Sollefteå is looking for a Church Caretaker

We are seeking a new church caretaker for our maintenance team, which is responsible for the parishes of Långsele, Graninge, Helgum, and Ed, including our churches and churchyards. You will become part of a maintenance team of five people.

As a caretaker with us, you will become an important part of the parishes' daily and weekend life. You help create safety and comfort for people during worship services, baptisms, weddings, and funerals. At the same time, you will work practically with maintaining outdoor areas – everything from mowing lawns and caring for churchyards to minor repairs and building inspections.

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working both practically outdoors and service-oriented indoors.
• Has a sense of order, care, and good customer service.
• Is flexible, cooperative, and has a heart for the right things.
• Has a Category B driver's license, general computer skills, and is a member of the Church of Sweden.

Safety is important to us. Therefore, we require an extract from the police record (criminal background check) upon employment, as we have activities for children and young people.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Category BE driver's license.
• Chainsaw certification and experience with wheel loaders, excavators, etc.
• Education and experience in gardening or property maintenance.
• Previous experience as a church caretaker and knowledge of sound systems.

Your primary workplace will be in Långsele, but you will work across all parishes in the area, with main responsibility in the Helgum parish. The position involves working during daytime, evenings, and weekends. A requirement is that you have a Category B driver's license and access to your own car.

About Sollefteå Pastorate

Sollefteå Pastorate consists of twelve parishes and covers, geographically, the same area as Sollefteå Municipality. The core activities of the Church of Sweden parishes are to celebrate worship, conduct education, diaconal work, and mission. Sollefteå Pastorate also manages church buildings and other premises and is responsible for the funeral services in the twelve parishes.
