ECA Operator Frövi AB is an innovative foodtech company with large-scale greenhouse tomato production. Through modern technology, automation, and sustainable growing methods, we produce high-quality local food with minimal environmental impact.

We are now looking for an engaged and experienced Technical Manager who wants to take overall responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and technical development of our production facility.

This is a key role where you will lead the technology behind one of Sweden's most modern greenhouse facilities and contribute to stable, efficient, and sustainable production.

About the role

As Technical Manager, you are responsible for ensuring high operational reliability, technical performance, and continuous development of our technical systems and production facility.

You lead the technical work together with internal technicians and external suppliers, working closely with the company's management to develop the facility's efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.

The role combines strategic responsibility with operational leadership and offers great opportunities to influence both the development of the business and future investments.

Main areas of responsibility

Technical development and optimization

  • Ensure high availability and performance in critical systems such as:

    • Climate control

    • Irrigation and nutrient delivery

    • Heating and CO₂ systems

    • Greenhouse lighting

    • Transport and packaging equipment

    • Automation and control systems

  • Analyze technical data and drive improvement initiatives

  • Work actively with energy optimization and efficient resource use

  • Contribute to technical innovation and future investments

Maintenance and operational reliability

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that support the business's production goals

  • Responsible for preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance

  • Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance

  • Ensure access to spare parts, tools, and technical equipment

  • Coordinate work between internal technicians and external service suppliers

Safety, quality, and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, safety requirements, and technical regulations

  • Work proactively with risk assessments and systematic work environment work

  • Responsible for technical documentation, service logs, and maintenance routines

  • Manage maintenance systems (CMMS) and track technical key figures such as OEE, MTBF, and MTTR

Leadership and team development

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the company's technical team

  • Create a culture characterized by safety, responsibility, and continuous improvement

  • Ensure the right competence development and resource planning within technology and maintenance

  • Act as a technical advisor to management and the rest of the business

Budget and supplier management

  • Establish and follow up on budgets for maintenance, investments, and technical projects

  • Evaluate suppliers and negotiate service and maintenance agreements

  • Identify cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality or safety

Qualifications

  • Documented experience in maintenance management and technical leadership

  • Experience of personnel responsibility within industrial or technical operations

  • Good knowledge of electricity, automation, control systems, mechanics, or industrial engineering

  • Experience of maintenance planning and improvement work

  • Experience of budget work, project management, and supplier contacts

  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally

  • Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written

Meritorious

  • Experience from greenhouse production, food industry, or process industry

  • Experience with climate control systems and technical production environments

  • Experience with CMMS systems and tracking of technical key figures

  • Knowledge in energy optimization and sustainability work

  • Knowledge of Swedish

  • Experience in work environment and safety work

Employment conditions

  • Location: Frövi

  • Employment type: Permanent position with an initial probationary period of 6 months

  • Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week

  • Collective agreement: Horticulture Horticultural facility employee

  • Reports to: CEO, ECA Operator Frövi AB

  • Start date: As agreed
