Boliden Zinkgruvan is looking for a Planning Engineer for the Mining Engineering Section.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Planning Engineer for the Mining Engineering Section. As a Planning Engineer, you will contribute to the safe, efficient, and economical mining of Zinkgruvan's resources by working with planning and design, focusing on the years following the budget year. You will also ensure that data and alternatives are developed to support the right tactical and strategic decisions for future production increases. The role also includes supporting the development of Life of Mine (LOM) and Mineral Reserves, as well as participating in and leading projects that can improve the mine's profitability.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Design and planning of production (stoping and pillar mining)
  • Develop and evaluate alternative designs, plans, and mining methods
  • Collaborate with other functions to provide input for planning and to communicate plans.
  • Review Zinkgruvan's long-term plan "LOM" (Life of Mine)
  • Work with cost modeling and prepare data for cut-off calculations
  • Project work and project management within the department
  • Create mining plans for new production areas
  • Technical support

Requirements for the Position

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on mining technology.
  • Senior Planning Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in planning within the mining industry.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • Knowledge of project management, Deswik, and long-term planning software.
