Exciting Opportunity as Development Chemist at BI-QEM Resin AB in Perstorp

About the Position

Join our dynamic R&D team and engage hands-on in high-complexity chemistry and application development tasks. Work closely with our esteemed customers to conduct a wide array of application development activities, spanning from synthesis and formulation to rigorous testing and product characterization. Take ownership of application development tasks, meticulously planning, evaluating, and summarizing testing outcomes, while proactively proposing innovative paths forward.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to solve their technical challenges in organic chemistry, based on their needs and processes.
• Develop new recipes and refine existing formulations for novel application areas.
• Further enhance and optimize existing products, formulations, and processes.
• Operate our pilot reactor and oversee upscaling reactions to successfully develop new resin formulations.
• Collaborate with our team in Sweden as well as the company's chemical center in Italy.
• Following instructions and procedures to ensure safety, health, environmental, and quality standards is an inherent priority.

Your Profile

To thrive and succeed in this role, you have:

• An academic background or similar relevant experience, with a focus on organic chemistry.
• A keen interest in working hands-on in the lab on complex problem-solving assignments.
• The ability to develop products and methods that meet customer needs while understanding the associated risks.
• Ability to participate in technical discussions and address technical issues with customers.
• A desire to work broadly - across different customer segments, products, applications, and technologies.
• First experience from the chemical process industry.
• Fluent proficiency in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

As an individual, you are positive, structured, adaptable to change, and take responsibility. You are pragmatic, curious about new solutions, with the courage to question established methods and the creativity to propose alternatives with a focus on sustainability.
