At Universitetsholmen Upper Secondary School, we are looking for a Caretaker for a permanent position. Responsibilities

As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing the school's various operational areas, both indoors and outdoors. You thrive in a varied environment and contribute to creating a well-functioning, pleasant, and safe environment for both students and staff.

Your main responsibilities include:

• repair and assembly of equipment in the school premises
• handling alarms, access cards, and keys
• carrying out rearrangements and internal moves
• ordering materials as well as receiving and handling deliveries

You also work with systematic fire protection work (SBA) to ensure a safe and secure school environment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Upper secondary education, preferably with a vocational technical focus
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission
• Previous relevant work experience as a caretaker, property technician, or similar role
• Digital competence, meaning it is natural to use digital tools as work aids and help, and have the willingness and ability to learn new programs and systems
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Education within the property sector
• Lift training, forklift license, and/or training in hot work
• Experience working as a caretaker in primary/upper secondary school
• Experience handling ordering programs and inventory lists
• Good knowledge of repairing fixed and loose furniture.
• Knowledge of assembling computers and handling computer programs such as the Office package

We are looking for you who are solution-oriented and service-focused and who take great personal responsibility for the work. In the role of Caretaker, you will have daily contact with the staff, students, and other service personnel. Therefore, it is important that you are good at dealing with people, are receptive, and have good collaboration skills. Your ability to handle different tasks with a professional and friendly attitude will be crucial in creating a positive and efficient work environment.

You are meticulous and well aware of goals and quality standards. Furthermore, the work requires that you are confident in making independent decisions and taking a stand in questions when necessary, as well as planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. You value differences and understand how background, culture, and group membership affect yourself and others.
