Do you want to help develop the future of habilitation services? We are looking for a curious and creative psychologist for our adult habilitation unit!
Your workplace
"Habilitation, Vision and Assistive Devices" is a county-wide operation offering cross-professional and specialized interventions and assistive devices for children, young people, and adults with long-term disabilities.
At the adult habilitation unit, psychologists work alongside counselors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. Discussions regarding common professional and habilitation-relevant issues are ongoing, both within and across professional boundaries. We place great emphasis on staying updated with current research in the field of habilitation and, as far as possible, basing our work on evidence-based methods.
The target groups for adult habilitation are individuals with autism spectrum conditions, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, and acquired brain injuries. Our patients have one or more of these challenges. The goal of all interventions in our operation is to optimize the possibility for individuals with permanent disabilities to live as independent a life as possible, based on their own prerequisites.
Here, you will find driven and engaged colleagues. We have a systematic work environment management and place great focus on the induction and mentoring of new employees. We also conduct structured development work focusing on evidence-based interventions, both individually and in groups, as well as an expanded range of e-services.
As one of the region's health-promoting workplaces, we offer joint fitness activities and a fitness hour. The psychology group has access to case supervision, and there are good opportunities for further education. One of our staff holds a specialist position and works continuously to develop and maintain a psychological perspective throughout the entire operation.
Your responsibilities
The psychologist's responsibilities at the adult habilitation unit include individual treatment interventions and group therapy, assessments of cognitive functioning levels, and consultative support to staff groups. Our work is directed towards all patients in the operation, where individuals with autism without intellectual disability make up a large part.
You will quickly gain insight into the breadth of the neuropsychiatric field and see the value of pragmatic interventions as a complement to traditional treatment work. To meet the needs of our other target groups, the work also involves offering consultative support to staff groups.
We use evidence-based methods such as TBA (Early Assessment and Intervention) and PBS (Positive Behavior Support) in close collaboration with other professions in the team. Another important task for the psychologist is to read, assess, and process incoming referrals. Psychologists participate in the operation's development work and work continuously on psychology-specific development issues. Current areas include the development of e-services and broadening the range of group activities for both patients and relatives.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. As a person, we see that you have the ability to adapt to changed circumstances and see opportunities in change. You are creative and often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues.
You have a good understanding of how humans acquire knowledge and are aware that everyone has different prerequisites. Therefore, you can also adapt the way you convey messages to the recipient. We see that you collaborate well with others and are confident in your professional role, which contributes to conveying good care.
Experience of habilitation and/or the target groups of habilitation is meritorious but not a requirement.
