Department of Surgery and Urology

We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough trials and fantastic moments, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!

Our Operations

The Department of Surgery and Urology has approximately 400 employees distributed across clinics, wards, and medical sections. A large part of our care consists of national and regional patients referred for highly specialized investigation and treatment. We are a research-intensive clinic in close collaboration with Uppsala University.

On surgical ward 70D, highly specialized surgical care is provided with a focus on colorectal, endocrine, and emergency surgery. We treat both patients undergoing planned operations and patients admitted urgently via the emergency department or from other hospitals. We also receive trauma patients, for example after falls or violent injuries.

The combination of elective and emergency surgery creates a varied and stimulating work environment where no two days are alike. We are now looking for a Staffing Coordinator for a fixed-term position of approximately one year.

Your Role

As a Staffing Coordinator, you play a central role in the operations and work closely with the ward manager and assistant ward managers.
Your responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and roster planning for both short and long term
  • Daily staffing planning based on operational needs and staffing goals, taking competence distribution into account
  • Collaboration and coordination with other staffing coordinators within the department
  • Registration and administration in personnel administrative systems

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who have at least a high school education as well as relevant professional experience or training in the field. It is an advantage if you are trained as a nursing assistant and/or have experience in similar tasks.
You have experience working in staffing, scheduling, and personnel systems, and good knowledge of Heroma is a requirement.

It is also an advantage if you have:

  • basic knowledge of labor law, agreements, and personnel economics
  • experience in administrative work, for example within payroll or personnel administration

Your Competencies

You are service-oriented, solution-focused, and have a professional attitude. The work requires you to be independent, flexible, and have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize – even when conditions change rapidly.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel.
You have an interest in IT systems and find it easy to learn new tools. You have very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Personal suitability is given great weight.

What We Offer

We offer a fixed-term position of approximately one year with 100% scope. Working hours are during daytime, Monday to Friday.

Start date is as soon as possible according to agreement. Probation period may apply.
Here you will receive benefits that make a difference, read more about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).

Region Uppsala assigns all permanent staff for military service based on the needs of the total defense. This entails no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.

Before making a hiring decision, checks of suspicion and criminal records are conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or compulsory care for substance abusers, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala's own channels, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales representatives.
