Functional Support is the third largest department within the Welfare Administration, tasked with implementing decisions made under the LSS Act (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), primarily decisions regarding housing with special services, personal assistance, and day activities. The goal of the support provided is to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in society, so that individuals who are granted support have the opportunity to live like others.

Our work is carried out through individually tailored support with high quality and respect for self-determination, where a respectful and positive attitude permeates all operations.

We are now looking for two dedicated and goal-oriented support assistants for the group home at Stjärnbacken! The positions are permanent full-time (100%) roles with a start date of August 24, 2026, or as agreed.

Stjärnbacken has operation-adapted schedules, which means work may also take place at Gullstigen’s Child and Youth Short-Term Care facility.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for creating and following up on implementation plans, other social documentation, and other administrative tasks and areas of responsibility, such as scheduling, purchase orders, and health and safety matters, together with the user.

Together with your colleagues, you will carry out daily, close-to-life support measures and planned activities with the user. You will support and motivate the user in daily activities at home and during leisure time. Building trusting relationships with users and being a good role model are key parts of the role.

You ensure that support measures are based on the user's individual needs, promote independence and participation, and are carried out with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. You help with everyday chores, personal hygiene, and medication. The work often involves working alone, and working hours vary as we provide support during days, evenings, and weekends.

You drive development forward together with colleagues according to established goals, methods, quality requirements, and other guidelines. Collaborating with the user's network, other staff, and other partners is also an important part of the work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school diploma in one of the following:

  • Care and Nursing Programme with specialization in functional impairment or psychiatry.
  • Child and Youth Programme with a focus on social work or pedagogical work.
  • Or other equivalent education deemed sufficient by the employer.

You must be at least 18 years old to work in care and nursing.

It is important that you have the ability to meet people professionally based on their individual conditions and needs. As a person, you are self-reliant and stress-resistant, with the individual in focus. You are empathetic, responsible, and have an easy time collaborating with others. You have good social skills and thrive working in a flexible manner. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The job requires sufficient knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, including the ability to communicate with users, perform care documentation, and receive medication delegation.

An extract from the criminal record for work with the elderly and adults with disabilities is a requirement. Since the group home co-plans with Gullstigen’s Child and Youth Short-Term Care, a register extract for work with children is also required and must be shown to the employer before any potential employment.

Please attach your CV and cover letter with your application.
