The Centre for Operative Activities (COV) in Skellefteå brings together several operations with a common focus on operative care. The centre covers surgical and orthopedic care, along with anesthesia, operating room, and intensive care activities, as well as postoperative care. The operations are conducted in close collaboration between professions and in cooperation with other clinics within the hospital and the county.

Surgical Ward 2 and 8 both have emergency and planned operations. Surgical Ward 2 operates year-round with 20 care beds, and Surgical Ward 8 is a week-care ward with 8 care beds. We have a large influx of patients, which means that patients are cared for for shorter and longer periods. We also care for palliative patients on Surgical Ward 2 and have good cooperation with palliative medicine. We offer exciting, varied, and developing work in a pleasant work group. We have an open working climate and good cooperation between different professional categories.

We work in a working time model with a preference schedule and rotational service, which means a schedule covering all hours of the day. Here we work 2 out of 5 weekends. During weekends and when Surgical Ward 8 is closed, staff covers Surgical Ward 2.

Your onboarding will be adapted to your experience and needs. Competency training is included for certain delegated tasks. We offer a fitness hour, there is a staff gym available, and there is a contribution for work shoes. Within round-the-clock operations, you receive a salary supplement.

Job Description

As an assistant nurse with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

Your work with us takes place within a broad surgical area with specialized surgery and emergency care. You will be part of a team responsible for patient care and contribute to high patient safety and care development. You are important for our patients but also for the wards and our future. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to creating good cooperation and a pleasant atmosphere on the wards and within our clinic. You will work on both wards.

Qualifications

We are now looking for assistant nurses with adequate education and the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's competency certificate, preferably with experience in emergency care. We want you to have a good manner of dealing with people and see cooperation as an important part of the work and in nursing. You are responsible as a person and create security and trust. You want to be part of building further and developing both our operations and yourself.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start: 2026-08-31 According to agreement, end: 2027-02-28.
