We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
At Ward 50F, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility, develop your skills, and help shape the elective care ward of the future together with an engaged team.
Our area of operations includes cardiology and pulmonology, clinical physiology, and thoracic surgery. Advanced care is provided here in close collaboration with research and development, making the work both exciting and future-oriented.
On Ward 50F, we provide pre- and postoperative care within the elective flow – planned care for patients who come from home prior to surgery or treatment. Patients are usually admitted the day before their procedure, cared for on the ward before surgery, and receive their postoperative care from us afterwards.
We have a high patient flow and a varying work pace, but what characterizes our workplace is strong teamwork. We help and support each other, and we have an open atmosphere where laughter is close at hand and the ceiling is high.
We collaborate closely with the thoracic admission unit regarding the preoperative flow and with the cardiac intensive care unit 50G regarding certain patient groups and when more advanced care is needed.
Ward 50F is now facing an exciting development journey. The ward is entering a construction phase where we will jointly shape and develop the future 50F. We do not yet know exactly how the operations will look in a year – but we know that we are looking for engaged employees who want to influence, develop, and build something long-term.
Assistant nurses already play a central role in our operations, and we want to continue developing both the ward and the assistant nurse profession. Here, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility, develop your skills, and be an important part of the team. We look forward to welcoming more colleagues who share our enthusiasm for the future.
As an assistant nurse at 50F, you will become part of an engaged team where assistant nurses make up a large part of the operations. You will work within the ward's various functions, including:

We are looking for you who are confident in basic nursing care and who preferably have experience with the practical tasks included in the role. For us, it is important that you are curious, engaged, solution-oriented, and have a positive attitude. At 50F, assistant nurses have significant responsibility and an important role in the operations. Therefore, we are looking for you who enjoy developing, taking initiative, and contributing to the continued development of the operations.
