Boverket is the national authority for planning, building, and housing. We aim to contribute to a sustainable society with good housing in vibrant environments. Our focus lies on issues concerning the built environment, management of land and water areas, physical planning, construction and management of buildings, housing, and housing finance. Since July 2025, Boverket has also served as the emergency preparedness authority within the emergency preparedness sector for industry, construction, and trade.

Boverket's headquarters are located in Karlskrona, with a smaller office in Malmö. Today, approximately 250 people work at the authority, including architects, civil engineers, economists, lawyers, communicators, planners, and social scientists.

As an expert in indoor environment issues at Boverket, you will belong to the Construction and Indoor Environment unit. We are approximately 25 employees, with slightly more than half based in Karlskrona and the rest in Malmö. Our team consists of individuals with broad and deep expertise in construction, environment, sustainability, and health. We have experience from all parts of the construction sector, business, public operations, academia, and research. At the unit, we work, among other things, with managing, developing, and monitoring Boverket's building regulations. We participate in and lead various investigations, such as government assignments and other common tasks focused on construction. The unit's staff is divided into teams based on areas of competence, and you will be part of the Environment and Sustainability team.

Your role with us

In the role of an expert in indoor environment issues, you will work with managing and developing Boverket's building regulations for indoor environments in Sweden.

Your main tasks will be:

• Lead or participate in investigation work and government assignments within the areas of hygiene, health, and environment, as well as related fields.
• Work with environmental scanning, follow-up, development, guidance, and knowledge dissemination regarding Boverket's building regulations, particularly regulations on hygiene, health, and environment, but also in other related areas.
• Work in cross-professional teams in collaborative projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• Answer questions from, for example, citizens, the industry, and other authorities.

Your competence profile

We are looking for you who:

• is an engineer or civil engineer with broad and deep building technical competence.
• has very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English.
• has experience and good ability to lead meetings and give presentations.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Deeper specialist knowledge in the areas of ventilation, thermal comfort, and moisture safety.

It is desirable but not a requirement that you have experience in:

• lecturing and training.
• leading and driving complex projects within construction or similar.
• independently responsible for investigations or projects.
• design and production.
• damage investigations.
• research and development.
• standardization.
• participation in knowledge networks.

Personal qualities

The position is a permanent employment with placement in Karlskrona or Malmö. Start date according to agreement.
