The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations and is responsible for preschool, primary school, upper secondary school, adapted primary and upper secondary school, and adult education. With approximately 1,000 employees, we offer education that promotes all children and students in lifelong learning and work according to the direction "high knowledge results in a school where everyone can and wants to be". We place great emphasis on working close to the operations through regular dialogue and support for school leaders and teachers based on the chain of command.

Vifolkaskolan 7-9 is located in Mantorp, a stone's throw from the commuter train, and has approximately 330 students distributed across 12 classes and a special teaching group. The staff group consists of both experienced teachers who have been with us for many years and teachers who are at the beginning of their teaching career. In addition, the school consists of competent employees such as student assistants, caretakers, library staff, and study and career counselors. We also have a student health service consisting of school nurses, counselors, school psychologists, speech therapists, special education teachers, study and career counselors (SYV), and special needs pedagogues. At our school, teaching and the relationships between staff and students are in focus. We have a well-functioning organization and clear and effective routines for our student health work.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

We are looking for an engaged and secure student assistant who will work closely with an individual student in need of extensive support in their school situation. The assignment involves supporting a student with social difficulties, where attendance at school is high, but participation in teaching is limited. The student has difficulties in social interaction, motivational challenges, and needs support in developing a respectful attitude in relation to others.

The work largely involves:

• Supporting the student into teaching and creating structure in the school day
• Building a trusting relationship
• Working preventively with conflict management and approach
• Strengthening the student's social skills and values

The employment is fixed-term during the autumn term, with the possibility of extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• Experience working with children/young people with social and behavioral challenges
• Good ability to build relationships and create trust
• Security in working with low-affective approach
• Ability to set clear boundaries in a respectful way
• Experience working with students with high absenteeism problems or school-avoidant behaviors
• Ability to work structured and sustainably over time
• Good collaboration skills with educators, student health services, and guardians

It is meritorious:

• Pedagogical education or education in social work
• Experience working with norms, values, and gender equality
• Knowledge of NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) or similar

You are calm, clear, relationship-building, and have a professional attitude even in challenging situations. You have a genuine interest in supporting students in difficulty and working long-term with change.
