Your responsibilities

The Department of Social Work conducts research, undergraduate and advanced-level education, as well as doctoral education within the main field of social work. The department's largest assignment is the Social Work Programme, 210 ECTS credits.

As a University Lecturer in Social Work, you teach at the undergraduate and advanced levels, primarily in Swedish, across the different terms of the Social Work Programme. Your duties include lectures, supervision, seminars, and skills training. The role requires a strong grounding in social work in the form of scientific and practical knowledge, with a focus on inequality, diversity, exclusion, and people's living conditions.

The work may include course design and course responsibility.

You are flexible and capable of moving between different types of pedagogical and scientific contexts. You share knowledge and contribute to the professional development of the work group, collegial working methods, and social cohesion. We consider your presence and active participation essential to perform your duties in the best possible way and to thrive in the work community.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed a master's degree or have equivalent competence, and who have demonstrated pedagogical skill.

For this position, particular emphasis will be placed on pedagogical skill.

The following will be assessed regarding pedagogical skill:

  • The requirement for employment is a strong grounding in social work.
  • Scientific and pedagogical skill in issues concerning inequality, diversity, exclusion, and people's living conditions is particularly meritorious.

The following will be assessed regarding other skills:

  • Good teamwork skills and the ability to contribute to the development of the work group, collegial working methods, and social cohesion.
  • A structured approach to work, by being able to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively.
  • In the scientific and pedagogical activities, creating and maintaining good relationships with colleagues and students both within and outside your own environment.

Since teaching takes place primarily in Swedish but includes English components, you must demonstrate the ability to teach in both Swedish and English.

About the position

Fixed-term employment, 40%. Commencement date by agreement until 2027-02-28.
