About You

At Prolympia, we are currently looking for a special needs teacher to take responsibility for our middle school section. Being a teacher is a significant responsibility, and to give our students the best opportunities for development, we are seeking the right candidates for our school. We are looking for someone with high expectations for students' knowledge and values. You have a positive attitude and share our values and fundamental view of sports as a tool for creating good health and excellent academic results. At our school, we expect you to work and engage in discussions from a salutogenic perspective.

Responsibilities

You will work both independently and as part of a team together with the school's special educator, and you will be part of the school's student health team. Together with your colleagues, you will work preventively and promote health. In this team, you will have an important and significant role where you work on including and following up on students, as well as organizing support for students with special needs. Furthermore, in your professional capacity, you will support mentors and teachers in their work. As a special needs teacher with us, you should have an interest in working both individually with students and in the classroom.

You will have your own responsibility for grades 4–6, and it is important that you are confident in mentoring educators as well.

You ensure quality by working systematically and have a good understanding of the success factors that lead to an inclusive environment. You will work closely with teachers, students, and guardians.

Qualifications

You have a post-secondary education in pedagogy and are a certified special needs teacher. A background as a special educator with an interest in also working as a special needs teacher is also interesting for this position. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with children in need of special support and are proficient in using technical aids. We would appreciate if you have experience working with documentation and follow-up, including assessments and action plans.

A certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (extract from the criminal record) regarding work in schools and preschools, issued less than one year ago, is required for employment.
