About the position

The Medical Unit for Endocrinology at Karolinska University Hospital is the highest-ranked in the Nordic region and one of the largest in Sweden. In Huddinge, our core areas are diabetes, diabetic foot ulcers, lipid disorders, and osteoporosis, but we also have a broad endocrinology outpatient clinic. This ST position will provide broad endocrinology competence, as well as the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in specific areas based on interest.

Here, you will receive training in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's objective description and the Swedish Society of Endocrinology's special recommendations. The ST position is structured in consultation with the section chief, study director, and supervisor. Placements occur within the various sections of the unit, and as needed, within the different specialties required to achieve the objective description for specialist competence in endocrinology and diabetology. We expect you to take an active part in research and development within the unit. Training medical students is a natural part of daily life at the unit. On-call duties may be included. The position is primarily located in Huddinge, but part of the training will also take place in Solna.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Swedish medical license
  • Experience in clinical work
  • You must be proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Note that BT (Basic Training/General Practice training) is not an integrated part of this ST. Applicants must have completed AT (General Practice Training) or BT to be eligible.

Merits:

  • Experience in supervising and teaching younger colleagues
  • Doctoral degree and/or ongoing independent research

About the recruitment process

Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period. The application period for this position extends over the summer holiday season. We plan to begin the selection process during week 32 and will contact you as soon as we know which applicants are moving forward to the next step in the recruitment process.
