Together with our competent colleagues, you will have the opportunity to help develop the pathology department and influence the choice of the most modern diagnostics.
We are looking for
We are looking for you who hold a Swedish medical license with specialist training in clinical pathology, as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. It is desirable that you have broad diagnostic competence in pathology. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a senior physician, and especially if you have experience in clinical cytology.

What you will work with
As a specialist physician, you have medical responsibility and are an important part of the production, while driving development within laboratory medicine together with colleagues. You participate in MDT rounds, puncture clinics, internal training sessions, and have an important supervisory role for our ST (specialty training) physicians.
The Laboratory Medicine department is a county clinic that is part of the Division of Operative and Diagnostic Services. It consists of the sub-areas of clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine, clinical microbiology, and clinical pathology. The laboratories have high quality requirements from relevant authorities and are accredited according to SS-EN ISO 15189:2022 (Medical laboratories – Requirements for quality and competence). Approximately 30 employees work at the clinical pathology unit across several different professional categories, including biomedical analysts, autopsy technicians, cytodiagnosticians, specialist physicians in pathology, and administrative staff. In 2025, approximately 16,000 PADs, 3,000 Cyts, 2,000 indicated cervical cytologies, 9,000 GCKs, and 200 OBDS were diagnosed.
