We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough trials and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. We welcome your application!
On the Gastrointestinal and Kidney Ward 100B2, we are not just a care ward; here we test new ideas, working methods, and digital tools with the goal of creating a better work environment and even safer care for our patients. We are the first hospital to work with movement monitoring via AI technology, to better prevent fall accidents.
Here, you will work with patients who are investigated and treated for gastrointestinal, liver, and kidney diseases. We receive patients from other regions and are proud to provide national highly specialized care for several diagnoses. This means you become part of an operation where advanced care, strong team spirit, and high competence are at the center, always with the patient in focus.
When opportunities arise, we also care for patients from other specialties, such as internal medicine. For you as a nurse, this presents a unique chance to develop broad and valuable competence.
Are you also curious about surgery? Then this might be the perfect workplace for you. Several of our treatments and procedures are performed under anesthesia, giving you experience with both pre- and postoperative care, an exciting and developmental part of working with us.
As a nurse, you work in a care team together with an assistant nurse and are responsible for 5–6 patients. The ward also employs a ward pharmacist whose role is to support medication-related matters and assist with, among other things, medication preparation. As a nurse, you also have close contact with dietitians, physiotherapists, and social workers. Our patients arrive both urgently and planned, providing variety and pace in the work.
You will have the opportunity to develop within highly specialized care, including pre- and postoperative care, and influence how care is provided – every day.
We are looking for you who:
We are looking for you who set goals for yourself and work hard and ambitiously to achieve them, doing what is required for a good result. You handle stress in a constructive way, maintain a good mood under pressure and setbacks. You think outside the box, come up with new ideas, and find new solutions to old problems. You adapt and find win-win solutions through a non-hierarchical focus on the common goal.
Here you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).
