Clarion Hotel Grand is now looking for a new star for our restaurant – a Sommelier for Brasserie NÒR! We are looking for someone with a sparkle in their eye and a deep love for the world of wine and beverages, world-class service, and unforgettable guest encounters. You love guiding guests through exciting taste experiences, recommending the perfect food pairing – and know that magic happens in the meeting between the right drink and the right person.

As a Sommelier, you will have a key role in the team where, with your expertise and passion, you are responsible for:

  • Create magical guest encounters: This is where natural upselling begins. You radiate knowledge, confidence, and joy, ensuring every guest feels seen and inspired in their beverage choice.
  • Lead unforgettable tastings: From intimate wine tastings for smaller groups to larger gatherings and energetic events for conference groups.
  • Develop beverage lists: You have some freedom to shape and refine our beverage lists, always with the aim of surprising and delighting our guests. Update and adapt the wine list in tandem with menu changes and special events.
  • Inspire and train the team: Share your passion and knowledge with your colleagues, and elevate the entire team's beverage competence.
  • Manage inventory and cost control: Keep track of the stock, optimize raw material costs, and report insights to the Restaurant Manager – your expertise is worth its weight in gold!
  • Ensure up-to-date inventory: Ensure that new products and prices are always correctly registered and deliver a complete inventory on time.
  • Build relationships with suppliers: In consultation with the Restaurant Manager, you handle orders and contact with our wine suppliers, always keeping our purchasing goals in mind.
  • Shape events: Plan exciting dinners and events together with suppliers and the team.

Your role also includes:

  • Plan your time smartly: Outside of serving duties so you have room for tastings and meetings – in consultation with the Restaurant Manager.
  • Be part of the team: You are a natural part of the daily operations where you share your knowledge and passion.
  • Work at your own station: You get your own area to shine in.
  • Tackle new challenges: Other tasks assigned by the Restaurant Manager you see as opportunities to grow.

To succeed in the role:

  • You have a sommelier education and proven experience in guiding guests through beverage experiences.
  • Your passion for beverages is backed by relevant previous experience as a sommelier, where you have had the opportunity to develop your expertise.

Job Grade: 75%

Start Date: Immediately or by agreement

Working Hours: The position includes day/evening and weekend work.
