The Role of the Nurse

You will work at our healthcare selection clinic as well as at our clinic for qualified eye care. The clinic also has surgical operations, which you, as an eye nurse, have the opportunity to be a part of.

Common tasks also include telephone advice and running your own clinic with different patient groups within eye care, as well as teamwork with doctors and assistant nurses. The role also includes being a resource nurse responsible for acute examination needs that arise during the day, as well as administrative tasks.

The position with us is a permanent full-time position, daytime Monday to Friday, based on the basic schedule. Start date is by agreement.

Your Future Workplace

The eye clinics within Jönköping County perform eye care in two areas – within healthcare selection and within qualified care. We have three eye clinics based in Eksjö, Jönköping, and Värnamo. The clinics treat various types of eye problems requiring specialist care and have both planned and urgent visits, as well as counseling, follow-up, and surgical care. Together, we work regionally across the county with the processes in eye care and collaborate on regional issues.

The Eye Clinic at Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping performs eye care in two branches – open specialist care within healthcare selection for eyes and qualified eye care. Within open specialist care, we treat most eye ailments, for example, diabetes screening in the form of fundus photography, glaucoma checks, cataract surgery, and emergency operations.

Within qualified eye care, we work among other things with patients with age-related changes in the macula, children, and advanced eye surgery. The different professions within the clinic work together and strive for good medical results. Employees contribute ideas and drive the development of improvement work.
