Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have a background in chemistry or physics and have worked practically with laboratory operations where method development, analysis, and instrument handling have played a central role. You are accustomed to working independently in technically complex environments and have a genuine interest in understanding, developing, and improving methods and working practices.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Academic education in chemistry or physics (at least Bachelor or Master)
  • At least 3 years of experience in similar tasks
  • Experience in method development, troubleshooting, and instrument handling
  • Experience working according to ISO 17025
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Class B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you have experience in method validation and/or work within nuclear technology activities. Experience with radiometric equipment is obviously also meritorious, such as gamma spectrometers, alpha spectrometers, and liquid scintillators.

As a person, you are pedagogical and have a natural ability to explain, train, and support others in technical matters. You work in a structured and careful manner with a high awareness of quality and at the same time have a curious and solution-oriented attitude. The role involves many contact surfaces, which requires good collaboration skills, clear communication, and a desire to contribute to the team's joint development.

What does the role entail?

As a Method Specialist, you will have a central and responsible role in Cyclife's radiometric laboratory, which works with radiochemistry and radio physics, where you function as a technical expert and driving force in development work. You are responsible for ensuring quality, functionality, and further development of both existing and new analysis methods as well as the laboratory's equipment. The role involves close collaboration with laboratory engineers, where you also have an important responsibility in training, mentoring, and supporting colleagues in their daily work.

You report to the team manager for the analysis laboratory, who works with a present, engaged, and accessible leadership style. The introduction is structured together with both the manager and experienced colleagues, which gives you good conditions to grow into the role. The team consists of 12 people and works closely together with weekly planning meetings and continuous competence development. The role is primarily site-based, with the possibility of some remote work, and entails good development opportunities in the long term as you build your competence within the business.

Examples of tasks:

  • Provide technical support to the analysis laboratory in complex issues
  • Develop, quality assure, and implement analysis methods
  • Ensure function and quality of critical laboratory equipment
  • Troubleshoot instruments and drive method improvements
  • Perform and quality assure calculations and analyze measurement results
  • Drive and participate in development projects and customer assignments
  • Train and mentor laboratory engineers in methods and quality assurance
  • Participate in the laboratory's planning and act as a mentor for new employees
  • Contribute to marketing work related to the development of new analysis methods
  • Be involved in investments and purchases of new laboratory equipment.

The position is a direct employment with Cyclife with an initial probationary period. This recruitment process includes a background check that compiles previous public criminal records. The background check consists of public information handled confidentially. A security interview is also conducted where financial stability is a requirement.
