About the job

Skogsgläntan Elderly Care Home is beautifully situated in nature in Ågårdskogen. We have 31 apartments for the elderly, of which 7 are for elderly people with disabilities. We actively work to shape support based on a salutogenic approach, valuing the residents' individual needs, wishes, and personal strengths.

Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant with us, you provide nursing care and social support based on the resident's individual needs and wishes. Together with the rest of the staff, you work to enable the individual to live as independent a life as possible based on their own conditions and prerequisites. Daily life should be understandable and meaningful for the individual, where structure, clarity, and security are cornerstones.

Working with people is a varied job that places high demands on engagement, empathy, attitude, and cooperation. You will be the extended arm of our residents in daily life, which may involve supporting residents in various activities, assisting with hygiene, helping with meals, and carrying out certain health and medical care as well as rehabilitative measures upon prescription from a nurse, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist.

We work with great respect for the user's integrity and shape the support according to the user. For you as a Care Assistant, we work with contact person responsibility (kontaktmannaskap). In your role as a contact person for one or more users, you are the one who builds a safe and sustainable relationship between the user, colleagues, and relatives. In the contact person responsibility, you are responsible for the establishment, follow-up, and revision of implementation plans.

It is natural for you to work independently but also to cooperate actively in a team. Everyone in the team collaborates based on their competence and holistic view around the user. A cohesive, close support creates security for the user, and adjustments to the support are made according to need.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in working with people and meet each individual based on their needs and wishes. You are secure in yourself and comfortable working with people who are in great need of continuity and structure. You need to be empathetic and able to read our users' needs.

To thrive and do a good job, you need to be independent, able to take personal responsibility, but at the same time be part of the team with the ability to cooperate and support others. A positive attitude, a sense of service, as well as respect and care in all relationships characterize you as an applicant.

Requirements:

• To be employed in the role of Care Assistant, you must attach proof of protected professional title or a certificate from your current employer stating that on July 1, 2023, you had/have a permanent employment as a Care Assistant.
• Proficiency in Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good reading comprehension.
• Basic digital competence.

Merits:

Conditions

We are looking for a Care Assistant for a permanent position at Skogsgläntan Elderly Care Home. Start date by agreement with an employment level of 100%.

You will work scheduled hours such as day, evening, and weekend.

Your employment will be within the Sector of Social Welfare, Lidköping Municipality, with placement at Skogsgläntan Elderly Care Home, which means that you may occasionally be required to work at other units.

Certificate of Good Conduct

Before being offered employment, you as a candidate are required to show a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) for work in any of the following areas: school or preschool, work with children in activities other than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes (residential homes for youth), work with the elderly or people with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
