Nurse at the Cancer Centre, Region Västerbotten

At the Cancer Centre, approximately 400 staff members provide care ranging from advanced cancer treatment to palliative care. Research and development are a vital part of our operations and a prerequisite for continuing to develop cutting-edge healthcare. At the Cancer Centre Ward (CAVA), we treat individuals affected by cancer or hematological diagnoses. By 2026, our goal is to become Sweden's sixth Comprehensive Cancer Center, an accredited facility meeting European standards for cancer care.

Here, doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants work together with paramedics in patient-centered teams. We offer a good working environment and healthy working hours. We offer day/evening shifts, three-shift systems, as well as permanent night shifts.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and dedication that make people feel secure. You develop broad competencies due to the wide variety of patients in our highly specialized care. We encounter patients in situations ranging from acute cases to those in the terminal stages of life.

You work with specialized tasks involving advanced medication treatment, such as cytostatics and immunological therapy. On the hematology section, we also perform stem cell transplants. Patients receiving radiation therapy also require inpatient care during certain periods. You care for patients with symptoms caused by both the cancer disease and/or the treatment, making the care highly varied.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in cancer care and a desire to develop in your professional role. We want you to have a good manner of dealing with people and to thrive in team collaboration. You can identify nursing needs and initiate appropriate measures. You have the ability to be flexible, meticulous, and structured to take responsibility and prioritize tasks. You have an interest in developing care delivered close to the patient.
