Our Operations

The Gender Identity Clinic is in an expansion phase, and we are now looking for more specialist physicians. Akademiska Sjukhuset has been entrusted with the responsibility of providing national highly specialized care for certain aspects of gender dysphoria in collaboration with Region Stockholm. The Gender Identity Clinic has a coordinating role regarding gender dysphoria care at Akademiska Sjukhuset and maintains close cooperation with Region Stockholm, which provides access to joint development projects and knowledge exchange. We work in interprofessional teams consisting of doctors, psychologists, social workers, and medical secretaries. The Gender Identity Clinic is an age-inclusive specialist clinic where we receive individuals of all ages. Our mission is to assess, investigate, and treat individuals seeking care for suspected gender dysphoria, who often desire gender-affirming treatment. The investigations follow a clear and structured approach, and medical treatment is carried out in collaboration with other departments at Akademiska Sjukhuset. The mandate to provide national highly specialized care brings both demands and opportunities to stay at the forefront of knowledge, maintain high quality of care, and work based on national knowledge support. Your Role

We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in psychiatry with a broad interest in psychiatry and a particular interest in gender dysphoria. Your working days will consist largely of investigative work, as well as follow-ups, and standard specialist physician duties including patient visits and collaboration with colleagues and other professions in the team. Supervision, teaching, and on-call duties are included in the role.

Your Qualifications

You must be a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry. We consider it a given that you enjoy working together with others for the benefit of patients and the organization. Broad psychiatric experience, interest in psychiatric diagnostics, and good judgment are important for the position. Experience from the patient group is meritorious. Research experience and interest in teaching are meritorious.

What We Offer

The position is a permanent employment, and the start date is by agreement. Probationary period may apply. The employment rate is 100%, but individual preferences can be discussed. On-call and standby duties are included in the position, and an introduction with an experienced colleague is offered to everyone. Start date by agreement.
