Our client is a Swedish high-tech product company that develops and delivers advanced system solutions to the defense sector. The focus is on robust hardware-centric solutions designed to function in demanding and often military environments. Projects are carried out in close collaboration with end customers and other industrial partners, characterized by long-term commitment, quality, and security. The company has a family-oriented culture with short decision-making paths and high technical competence.
About the RoleAs a Requirements Engineer, you will join projects from the very beginning, becoming the person who structures, analyzes, and compiles all requirements for systems and products in each project. You will serve as a central link between the customer, systems engineers, and the testing organization, ensuring that everyone has a common and clear set of requirements to work from.
You will work with both broader, sometimes vaguely formulated customer wishes, and very clear technical standards and norms (e.g., military standards). The role also involves contributing to the development and improvement of methods, processes, and tools for requirements management.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour main tasks include:
Gathering, analyzing, and structuring requirements from customers and internal stakeholders.
Ensuring traceability between requirements, system design, and testing, in close collaboration with systems engineers and test managers.
Interpreting and translating standards and regulations (e.g., military standards) into concrete and verifiable requirements.
Participating in project meetings and customer dialogues to clarify, negotiate, and follow up on requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Contributing to the establishment and improvement of processes and tools for requirements management (currently Excel is used primarily, but a more structured requirements system is under construction).
We are looking for someone who:
Has approximately 3–5+ years of relevant experience in requirements management, quality assurance, or a similar technical role.
Has worked with hardware-centric solutions, preferably with complex products or systems within sectors such as vehicles, defense, telecommunications, or industrial electronics.
Has a post-secondary technical education, for example in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, technical physics, or similar.
Is structured, analytical, and meticulous, with the ability to create an overview while also being able to drill down into details when necessary.
Thrives in a role with high collaboration – you work closely with customers, systems engineers, test managers, and other specialists, and are comfortable in an outward-facing role involving meetings and dialogue.
You will become part of a stable and growing company where you will:
Work with socially important technology and long-term projects.
Have a daily routine with varied tasks, where you both deepen your technical knowledge and participate in customer meetings and project decisions.
Join an experienced team of requirements engineers, systems engineers, and test managers who are eager to share their knowledge.
Have good opportunities to influence working methods and processes for requirements management.
