NOTE: Very unusual personal assistant position. 10 minutes south of Visby.

Spend the summer on Gotland in a completely unconventional role as a personal assistant. The position is initially part-time, with the possibility of developing into a full-time role.

My name is Tom McAlevey and I am not a person who suits everyone. Briefly: born in New York, residing in Sweden, founder of Bandit Rock, filmmaker, and lifelong adventurer – Google me if you want to know more. After a motorcycle accident a few years ago, I am now a C4 incomplete tetraplegic, meaning I am paralyzed from the neck down but not completely immobile. I can stand up and help actively, but you must be exceptionally well-trained, flexible, and athletic enough to handle my daily, intense training routines as well as occasionally lifting and handling heavy equipment such as wheelchairs. In addition, you will help with daily practical tasks such as transfers, dressing, hygiene, cooking, and regular mobility and stretching exercises. Imagine keeping a one-armed 60-kilo child alive who happens to have 200 years of life experience, infinite opinions, and never keeps quiet.

You must be a woman, completely free to move to Gotland (simple accommodation can be arranged), hold a valid driver's license, and have your own car. Experience from healthcare is not necessary, but you must be a sharp, practical, and quick-learning person who can handle technical tasks such as managing social media, organizing a household, and handling simpler administrative tasks. You will spend a lot of time in my company, so personal chemistry is just as important as competence. You will literally be my arms out in the world.

For the right person, this summer job can have a significant bonus: the opportunity to join a long-term global expedition and film project when my specially built four-wheel-drive Mercedes motorhome project is completed. Residence and work permits within the EU are required.
