Within the Technical Administration/Infrastructure department, we are responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating the municipality's infrastructure in the form of green areas, traffic, streets, squares, nature, protective embankments, as well as water and wastewater supply (VA). We are now looking for a park worker who can handle all common tasks related to green area maintenance in the municipality.

Your role with us

As a park worker with us, you will work with all common park maintenance tasks in Kristianstad Municipality, where we provide services to citizens and municipal operations. You act as an ambassador for the city and our operations in our public environments.

You will work in a pleasant team with varied tasks such as mowing, trimming, hedge cutting, planting, weed control, tree felling/pruning, and maintenance. In addition to parks and summer flowers, we also maintain outdoor areas at schools and preschools. In the role of park worker, you will also have contact with other operations, contractors, and individuals participating in various labor market policy measures.

On-call duty may be included in the position.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have education focusing on green area maintenance or many years of experience that the employer assesses as equivalent. To succeed in the role, you need to have good plant knowledge and skills in pruning. The position requires a Category B driver's license for manual transmission, and you need to be experienced in driving with trailers, tractors, and other equipment carriers such as sweepers and small snow removal vehicles.

The work requires good computer skills and the ability to handle the Office package without problems. You communicate fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing, and it is an advantage if you can also communicate in English.

Chainsaw certificates A, B, C, E, as well as lift certificates, Category BE and C driver's licenses, are meritorious, as is training in road work 1.1–1.3, 2.2, and brush cutter training is also considered an advantage.

To succeed in the role, you need to be a flexible, meticulous, and service-oriented person with good collaboration skills, able to work both independently and in a group. You have the ability to plan your work, follow instructions, adhere to set schedules, and deliver results. We want you to be able to handle pressured situations with calmness, and you are a person with high safety awareness. You collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions and need to have social competence when meeting different people in your work.

The work involves heavy lifting, which requires good physical fitness.

The Technical Committee is responsible, through the Technical Administration, for the development, construction, and management of the municipality's public spaces and buildings. The committee also has the task of organizing municipal water and wastewater supply (VA) and is the road maintenance authority for municipal roads.

Salary

Kristianstad Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting.

Start Date

The position is a fixed-term contract starting in September 2026 until June 2027.

Salary type: Monthly salary.
