Welcome to us

Bredängsskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) including regular and adapted primary education. We have approximately 450 students and around 100 employees. The school is located in Bredäng, close to the subway, city center, and green areas.

Many things happen during a day at our school. Therefore, we need a caretaker who enjoys having many things going on, who sees what needs to be done, and who contributes to the school functioning smoothly in everyday life.

Your role

As a school caretaker at Bredängsskolan, you will have a varied and independent job. You will interact with students, staff, craftsmen, suppliers, and others visiting the school.

This is a fixed-term position starting as soon as possible and running until January 31, 2027. There are good opportunities for extension.

You will work closely with the school's administrative manager and be a key part of the school's practical support in everyday life. This role suits you if you are handy, service-oriented, and not afraid to take charge of tasks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• rectifying minor faults and defects in the school premises
• reporting faults and following up on cases
• contacting SISAB (property owner), craftsmen, and suppliers
• patrolling and supervising premises and the schoolyard
• working with fire safety and other security routines
• managing keys, storage, and warehouse areas
• receiving deliveries, mail, and materials
• handling waste management, recycling, and bulky waste
• assisting with rearrangements, moves, and practical preparations
• keeping order in the caretaker's office, storage, and common areas
• assisting with school activities and other practical needs

Workdays can vary. Some tasks are planned, while others arise during the day. Therefore, you need to be able to prioritize, be flexible, and maintain structure simultaneously.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• experience in caretaker duties or similar practical service work
• upper secondary education
• good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• basic computer skills
• ability to work independently and take responsibility

The following are considered meritorious:

• previous experience as a school caretaker
• experience from schools or other public sector operations
• experience with SBA work (systematic fire safety work)
• experience interacting with property owners, craftsmen, and suppliers
• education or experience in technology, construction, real estate, or craftsmanship
• experience with ordering and administrative systems, such as Agresso

As a person, you are responsible, practical, and solution-oriented. You enjoy providing service and have a good attitude towards students, staff, and external contacts.

You need to be able to work independently but also collaborate with others when needed. We are looking for you who see what needs to be done and contribute to making the school feel safe, well-maintained, and functional.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
