Do you have an interest in food, order and tidiness, and do you enjoy providing good service? That's great, then perhaps we are looking for you! We are now seeking hourly substitute staff for our substitute pool where you will work as service personnel.

As a substitute, you are important for our youngest citizens to ensure they have a pleasant stay in our schools and preschools. In the substitute pool, you replace regular service personnel as needed, making you a crucial piece of the puzzle for our operations to run smoothly. Sometimes you cover single shifts with short notice, and other times for longer periods.

You are booked via our substitute management system, where you mark available times in your calendar on the days you can work. Before you start working as a substitute, you will be booked for a paid introduction over a few days.

Job Responsibilities

As service personnel, you have a combined role involving cleaning and simpler food handling at the municipality's preschools.

Examples of tasks include:

• Cleaning preschool sections according to written job descriptions
• Receiving and serving prepared meals from the central kitchens.
• Preparing simple meals, for example, cooking porridge or preparing salad.
• Handling dishwashing
• Ordering supplies digitally
• Participating in self-inspections

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is at least 18 years old and has a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You need to have previous experience from service roles such as retail, hospitality, or cleaning, where you can provide good references. Education in cleaning or kitchen work is an advantage.

To succeed in this role, we see that you are service-oriented, flexible in your approach as you often meet new staff and children's groups, self-motivated, tidy, structured, and take responsibility for your tasks. You should be able to work independently, have good communication skills, and be a person who shows engagement and service spirit. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and interest in the position.

As a substitute, you need to be able to work at least two full days per week, Monday to Friday. You must also be able to work throughout the entire municipality of Karlstad, including our outer areas (Molkom, Vålberg, Edsvalla, Väse, and Skattkärr).

Before we can offer you employment, we require a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record).

Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis.
