About the position

The Brachy department is part of Karolinska University Hospital's highly specialized cancer care and provides advanced brachytherapy treatment for patients with various cancer diagnoses.

We are now establishing a new postoperative operation within the department and are looking for nurses who want to join the journey from the start. The role involves a combination of patient-facing work and operational development where you have the opportunity to influence how working methods and routines are designed.

As a nurse at Brachy PostOp, you are responsible for the postoperative care of patients after treatment. You receive patients, monitor their condition, perform nursing interventions, and ensure safe and secure care throughout the entire postoperative process.

You will also support the operation on the brachy wards, prepare patients for treatment, and collaborate closely with anesthesia and postoperative staff, doctors, and brachy nurses. The work takes place in multiprofessional teams where each professional group contributes their competence to create the best possible care and patient experience.

We are looking for you who

  • have good collaboration and communication skills and thrive working in multiprofessional teams where collaboration is crucial for patient safety
  • work independently, take initiative, and want to help develop a new operation and its working methods
  • have a holistic perspective and understand how different parts of the care chain collaborate to create good and safe care
  • are positive, engaged, and non-hierarchical, with a genuine interest in oncology and a desire to contribute to care, research, and development
  • are quality-conscious and have an analytical and meticulous working style. You pay attention to details that can make a difference in care and treat patients and relatives with empathy, sensitivity, and professionalism, even in challenging situations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Swedish nursing license

Merits:

  • experience from intensive care unit (ICU)
  • experience from postoperative operation
  • experience from other intensive care operations

About the recruitment process

Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period. Since the recruitment process takes place during the vacation period, we plan to start interviews from week 30. However, invitations to interviews may be sent out before then.
