The Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aim to be a resource in close proximity and interaction that frees up and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life.

Ordinary housing is organized within the Disability Care Services, where we offer short-term supervision, short-term accommodation, relief services, home help, and the National School for children and young adults. We also provide day activities/occupational therapy, supported living, and dependency resource teams for adults over 18 years old.

Byttgränd’s short-term accommodation is located in Ersboda and is aimed at children and young adults with disabilities based on decisions according to the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). We offer a respite function for relatives, which contributes to a sustainable and long-term support structure for both the individual and the family. At our facility, the individual's needs and conditions are at the center, and we offer a safe, stimulating, and developmental environment. Nearby the facility are playgrounds, forest areas, and a library, enabling varied leisure activities and outdoor time.

We now need to expand our team with a Support Pedagogue!

Your Responsibilities

As an employee here, you will become part of a work group that together supports the individual's ability to live as independent and meaningful a life as possible. You contribute to a stimulating and safe environment and actively participate in the daily life of children and young people, which may involve play, crafts, outdoor activities, and games. You provide support in daily routines such as meals, cleaning, laundry, and personal care. We work based on an individualized approach using evidence-based methods within autism and intellectual disability.

The work also involves documenting, writing journals, creating implementation plans, and handling medications. You are also responsible for administrative tasks, such as planning activities, booking individuals based on approved services, and creating staffing requirements used for scheduling in the work group.

As a Support Pedagogue, you work on continuous improvements from a quality perspective regarding pedagogical methods and communication, documentation, and the introduction of new colleagues to the operations. You guide colleagues in pedagogical methods that are proven and advocated by the National Board of Health and Welfare. Your working style is characterized by flexibility, continuity, and security. You will work with practical interventions as well as guide other staff to pedagogical solutions for challenges in user-near work by applying various pedagogical methods.

As a Support Pedagogue, you are part of a network with other Support Pedagogues where we offer continuous peer support and competence development.

Outbursts of behavior and heavy lifting occur at the workplace. Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, night shifts, and weekend service is scheduled for 4 out of 8 weekends.

Joint planning takes place between our operations within the Disability Care Services.

About You

We are looking for you who want to make a difference for the target group and who have good pedagogical skills. You have a strong commitment and a desire to help develop the operations. You are receptive, flexible, solution-focused, and have a good attitude towards people, as well as being good at communicating and collaborating with all roles you meet in your daily life. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

To be able to communicate with users, colleagues, and other networks, write and read care documentation, and obtain medication delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
