Job Responsibilities
As a Support Pedagogue, your responsibilities include supporting, activating, and mentoring individuals in their daily lives, either at a children's residential facility or a short-term care facility, depending on where you are employed. Together with other staff, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the operations.
The overarching goal is to keep the user's needs at the center and continuously adapt the content to make it meaningful for the individual. You help create conditions for a good stay through activities and opportunities for social contact.
As a Support Pedagogue, you must fulfill the goals of the LSS plan regarding self-determination, participation, and integrity. You perform day-to-day and planned support measures based on the user's individual needs and wishes in accordance with LSS. Tools for this include implementation plans, documentation, and evidence-based methods. Your task is to contribute to a safe and meaningful environment where operations are shaped according to the users' strengths, interests, and needs. Care work is included.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH points or 60 university credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area and/or the behavioral science area.
To be considered for the position, you must have at least 1 year of experience working within LSS. You also need at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.
Previous experience with social documentation and MarteMeo is meritorious. Experience working with children with disabilities, challenging behavior, or AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is considered a plus.
You should have good computer skills and be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish. A B-class driver's license for manual transmission is required. Swimming proficiency is meritorious.
Personal suitability is highly valued. The role involves supporting children and young people with disabilities who show high sensitivity, which places high demands on your responsiveness to their needs. You should have a low-affective approach and an understanding of challenging behavior.
About the Workplace
The children's residential facility is for children and young people granted permanent residence under LSS §9:8. All users have an autism diagnosis, and challenging behavior is part of the daily work.
Users have varying needs, interests, and wishes. Interventions and activities are driven by needs and are carried out individually or in groups.
