Job Responsibilities

Your main task is to support, activate, and guide the users during their stay. Together with the rest of the staff, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the operations.

The overarching goal is to keep the user's needs at the center and continuously adapt the content to make it meaningful for the individual. You help create conditions for a good stay by providing activities and opportunities for social contact.

As a support assistant, you work to fulfill the goals in the LSS plan regarding self-determination, participation, and integrity. You perform day-to-day and planned support measures based on the user's individual needs and wishes in accordance with the LSS Act. Tools for this include implementation plans, documentation, and evidence-based methods.

You contribute to a meaningful and secure environment where the operations are adapted to the users' strengths, interests, and needs. The work also includes care duties.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a vocational degree from the Care and Nursing Program, the Child and Youth Program, or other equivalent education assessed as equal by the employer.

You must have at least one year of experience working within LSS (the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) as well as experience working with individuals with autism and/or using clarifying pedagogy.

A B-driver's license for manual transmission is required.

Experience with social documentation, the MarteMeo method, and previous work with children with disabilities is considered an advantage.

Personal suitability is of great importance. In this role, you will support young people with disabilities who show high sensitivity, which places high demands on your responsiveness to their needs. You should have a low-affective approach and an understanding of challenging behavior.

About the Workplace

The Children's Residence is aimed at children and young people who have been granted permanent residence according to LSS §9:8. All users have an autism diagnosis, and challenging behavior is part of the daily work.

Users have varying needs, interests, and wishes. Interventions and activities are driven by needs and are carried out individually with the user or together with other users in a group.

Within the Functional Support Administration, over 3,000 employees work to create and develop better support and services for people with disabilities. Our operations cover LSS, social psychiatry, personal assistance, escorts, substitutes, and healthcare. Employment type: Permanent placement at Children's Residence LSS

Scope: Full-time, working shifts every other weekend
